We had the opportunity to sit down with Werner Heilbrun, CEO of Cangooroo, to discuss his career journey, his leadership approach within the company, and the transformative growth opportunities that have emerged since joining Juniper Group.

Growth and International Expansion

When Cangooroo joined Juniper Group, the company had a presence in 9 countries. Werner recalls the challenges of internationalization: “We were already present in 9 countries, with a lot of pain and with few customers.” However, with Juniper Group’s support, the company quickly expanded its reach. “After the acquisition, we quickly expanded to 20, and today we are present in more than 30 countries.” Juniper Group’s global contacts and expertise made the expansion smoother and faster than before.

Autonomy 

A key factor in Cangooroo’s success has been maintaining independence while benefiting from Juniper Group’s resources. “We remain independent and have the autonomy to make decisions,” Werner explains. The group offers valuable advice and shared experiences that help streamline decision-making processes and reduce errors.

Career Development and Knowledge Sharing

Werner highlights how these programs enhance the team’s skills: “All these seminars and off-sites bring a wealth of knowledge… and help us quickly gain expertise.” By involving employees from different departments, such as bringing Sales Directors to sales off-sites, the company fosters cross-functional learning and broadens perspectives.

Werner notes, “We are preparing these individuals to take on greater challenges.” As the company grows, so do the opportunities for employees to move up within the organization.
